Cold Air Intake - High-flow, Aluminum Tube - FORD EXPLORER V6-3.5L

So I want to install a K&N Cold Air Intake into my 2018 Explorer XLT (V6 AWD non Turbo), but it seems my Mass Airflow Sensor runs into my "throttle body(?)"? The guy in the video below seems to have run into the same problem at the 4 minute mark.
The cold air intake comes with a block off plate, do I put that there instead of the mass air filter? Or is it essential the mass airflow filter be connected there?
Can anyone help me make sense of all this? (Sorry I'm a newb under the hood)
