Rockranger those are all excellent ideas. Ive been thinking long and hard about this for a few weeks now and have a few tricks to build a very strong car. Just not sure at this point what kind of car it will be.
Any opinions, FWD or RWD, auto or manual? Im pretty much used to the torque steer of a fwd car so it doesnt really bother me, but it might others...But rear wheel drive might actually be better for quite a few reasons...

am I late to the party? I really think just finishing is top priority, speed & nimbleness would be 2nd on the list I would think... I'm thinking tie the cagework in all the way to the ...ahem...bumper "supports" ...can we just exo-cage the biatch?
Lol thats the way to do it. Ive got a few tricks to make it alot stronger. The front end will be stripped and supports bars tied into the cage. Then the fenders and bumper will be reinstalled to comply with the rules. I want to be able to withstand the contact that is gonna happen on the track. Of course pick a part will supply all spare parts needed lol...

Hey now are you reading my mind or what lol. I was just posting up that kind of idea. No exo cages allowed but if its hidden under the fenders and bumper its not an exo cage now is it??
And im working on a few possible sponsors to keep the overall racing costs down.
if you want, you cn have my 1990 t-bird super coup. got it for free. just need to crank up the boost on the super charger and do some hardcore weight reduction. but it is a auto trans manual t-birds are faster.

The window is no big deal, they dont allow anything but the front windshield. If you wanna fix the head gasket let me know and we will use this car. Its a larger car so that is a good thing. And i know there are a few of them floating around in the local junkyards for spare parts.
well the rain came in and i don't have a garage to work on this in
i've been trying to decide what to do with this car. it ws given to me from a friends mom and i used for my dd after i flipped my explorer dd. was a pretty fun car, pretty fast and took turns ALOT better than the explorer. girls would always make fun of me though cause the power windo doesn't work and the stereo didn't work and neither does the a/c. but the head gasket blew last month or so (really random and unexpected ) so its been sitting. i was thinking wether i should fix it and get rid of it, fix it ad maybe drive (although my explorer should be running soon) or just get rid of it how it is, or get the mechanic next door to fix it for $500. but i think i've decided im gonna fix it. may take a while cause of the rain and it looks like a b***h to work on under that hood. if takes too long and you guys don't want it then thats cool. but if i get it fixed and you still want it, its yours.
Im thinking that wound be a pretty good car to try this race in. Im really not in too much of a hurry right now, the first race isnt until june or so. Pm me when you get it done and we can talk prices at least for you fixing it. Cant let you go away empty handed...
