26.5 MPG in an OHV!!

My SOHC 4.0 with 3.73 gears will most of the time get an amazing 14. It loves gas more than I do beer.

I just got done with a Fresno to Boise Id trip avraged about 17.7 . lots of big hills both ways going and comeing. going two people and small over night bags comeing home three people and the ex was stuffed because my son was moving down herer to live so ZI was happy with it . before i was getting the same 14 avrage only change i did was put in a k and N filter smae old plugs wires ext . did make sure all tires were same psi. and had just doen an oil change a cheap walmart one to bootso I was happy wiht m miles per . mine also has the 3.73 and is a 4x4 also

no police intercepter ford crown vic ever had 4wd.

the engine in crown vic is the 4.6 which is known for its good mileage.

i have a town car with the same engine and never get below 25 mpg in city and some freeway driving.

who said anything about a crown vic?

and yes it was a police interceptor, you can look at the interior if you want and the car fax report along with the officer that drove it, confirmation that it was a police interceptor.

you probably got crown vic from me calling her X a police interceptor, sorry, that may be my bad wording but it was used by the police, don't know if it was ever badged one.

The most I've ever had was just slighly behind the edge of 24mpg in my 5-speed 93' Sport, that was way back when I started driving, as I used to drive much more slowly since I was timid. According to me and the former owner (aka. "mom's") reports on gas mileage on that truck, it averages 21 when unloaded.

Right now I'm pulling 17.5-20 depending, it's really on and off at times being as I drive to and from Redmond to Everett in rush hour traffic all week, as well as I have some extra crap in back including 2 old computer monitors and a lawn mower, plus also. It's probably time for a tune-up, since my truck is now 15, and has never had one since new (just platinum plugs when it was 2 days old due to a starting problem), otherwise, that thing runs like a top.
