I have 3:73 Limited Slip gears? What size tires can I use and have no problem with them. I'm looking about gettimg 33" Ko's put on. Do I really need to get different gears to run the tire size I want? I do live in mountains, there
are alot of hills. Also is limited slip any good offroad?
I have had no problems with gettin stuck in minor offroading, but want to build my truck so where will be no problems in major trails. If anyone can help me out please do.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I love my limited slip. I can feel it working when I drive through mud and snow. If you are going to do any serious trails I would go with a locker. If it is your daily driver look into getting an ARB.

Do you have a lift? Otherwise 33" will not fit! Make a search on this site (the little search-icon on the top of this page) and you will for sure find your questions answered.

tire size

you should have no problem w/ your 33's. but you do need a lift. i'd recommend the super lift 5.5". i'm about to run 33's b/c they will nock down my rpm's on the interstate. right now i run over 3k at 75mph. that is way to high. and you will soon learn to love that limited slip. stock jeeps come w/ an open rearend and they SUCK. that's why everybody always gets a locker or welds their jeep's together. you have true 4 wheel drive. jeeps don't. when they are not locked in they are only 1 wheel drive. that's why we all own explorers.-russel good luck w/ your tires!

I'm getting a 5.5" lift. I just wanted to know if I had to change my gears. Thanks for the info.

I'm running 33x12.50 BFG M/Ts with 3.73 gearset. This setup has plenty of power for me but my engine has a few mods to help.

If your driving includes high altitudes/steep grades with a stock engine, you may need to consider re-gearing.

Gears

I have a 51/2" lift and I am running 33" tires and 3.73 gears and I think it sucks. Around town it will do O.K. but in the mountains it is way under powered. Going up I-70 I can only go about 50 mph up hill. It might just be because I like my speeeeed.
As soon as I can, I am changing out my gears.

If you want 33's go with 4.10 gears or 4.56.
I have 31's with 3.73 gears and I could notice a major drop in power and MPG.
