I had to regear with my 4.0 5 speed. I went real deep with 513's but 456 will do for a street wheeler.

With the 5.0 and and auto I'd try the 3.73s out for a while and see how you like it. Use the OD off button around town and to get up to speed on the highway. 4.10s are barely worth the change and 4.56s will guzzle gas like crazy on the highway with the V8. I've got a 92 4.0 with auto and it wasn't bad at all with 3.73s. I went with 4.56s thinking someday I'd run 35s. Not the case anymore and my highway mileage blows. If only 4.27s were available for our front ends that'd be the ticket.

i say go with 4.56's... 34's, 4.56's and v8 power would be a nice combo. should have real nice power

thanks for the input guys ill see how the truck acts with the 3.73s.. if i were to change gearin id go with 4.56s and build up my d30 for the SAS.. :D

On My 1995 I Have 3.73 And Have 33's And The 4.0 And It Works Perfect On The Highway...
I Constantly Find Myself Reaching 90+
No Performance Problems. And Still Can Spin The Tires On Occassion.

the big thing im worried about is off road power.... i have well more the enough power now with the 30's to spin all 4 up a hill in a mud pit etc etc.... i just dont wanna over tire my truck/under power it offroad when i need it the most...

if i had a real transfer case with low i wouldnt have a care in the world. but...

Can Not Tell You About That Isnce I Am 2 Wheel Drive...

I have a 5.0. I have 3.73s. I have 35's. I have NOT left the cul-de-sac though.

off topic but do you have any pics of your truck sounds pretty cool.

Im running 32's with 3.73's and dont really care for it. Its not really enough to justify a gear change, but its kind of sluggish at take off acceleration and not all that good for towing. I would probably want to re gear unless you dont tow or drive in town alot.
