i am thinking about the same thing since putting 33's on.. i do have limited slip 3.73's

and i think my speedo is so screwed up now...
not sure how to figure it out...
now my speedo will tell me i am going 85 and i am not sure of the sctual speed.. is it much less then that??

I am going to try the regear myself as i did one on my 1998 mustang gt in my front yard by my self ...
didnt even worry if everything meshed right which it did. cause i never had a problem with it...

My speedo with 3:73's is aabout 10mph slower. Im sure your performance will be alot better with 4:56's.

City Milage will get better

Highway milage will get worse

but when it comes down to it. 4.56 and 33"s are pretty much stock, so you shouldnt notice anything more then how it was stock

or atleast that was my experince with 32"s and 4.56

so if my speedo says 85 are you saying i am going faster thnan that ...

holy cow...

Yeah, but my comparison is beside another vehicle.

4.56's and 33's is a great combo. Performance will be much better and mileage will be much better. My speedo reads about 10 over.

I had 3.73 ratio and 33s before I regeared to 4.56. Mileage went from about 12 to 15 mpg. Performance increase was like night and day. Speedometer is off (reading high) by approximately 5%, which I think makes a nice little factor of safety.

So when your speedo says 85 you're not blowing by people on the highway? I would guess you're going almost 95.

When i had 33 with 3.73, my speedo would get about 1 -2 mph more off every 10 mph. The closest ratio you can get to stock 3.73 is 4.56 and 35's. You'll like the 4.56 with 33's though. Like mentioned before, city will maybe improve but not by much. You'll notice higher rpms at highway speeds but not much here either.

whats the common consensis for a speedogear to correct for 4.56 gears? 20 tooth gear? i would imagin no matter what your original ratio was, everyone is going to end up needing the same speedo gear for 4.56.

20 or 21 tooth gear, every truck/tire package is different.

4.56 = you will be happy.
The speedo is off by a percentage, not a certain number of MPH.

get the correct gear and your speedo will be perfect, for you it should be 21 tooth.
