i jus had auto zone run the codes for me on the x it came up 2 codes for vacuum leaks and 2 running lean in banks 1 and 2. The guy told me to put fuel cleaner in and that should help, and my ex who is a mechanic said that was bad for the truck yet it helped my sisters truck out. Should i give it a whirl??? and i have checked over and over again for this vacuum leak but cant find it any ideas where to begin to look again? THANKS!!!!!

*****UPDATE*****
just had monro pull my codes got p0171- lean bank 1, p0174- lean bank 2, p0401-insufficiant egr flow, p0455- evaporative emissions control system gross, p0741- torque convertor system

We drove around with the scanner found the coast clutch silonoid is bad and there is a leak in the upper intake gasket

So im going to get those parts and then give an update to everyone just in case any one is having my issues

Sounds like you've got a handle on the problem,
good luck.

The evap code might remain, as will the EGR code,
but they're an easy fix compared to the intake gaskets.

The gross evap leak might be the gas cap, loose or
broken O-ring seal.......?

thanks!

i hope i dont know much about my truck seein this is my first x and all but the guy who had it before me just ran the thing into the ground...Thanks again!

Evap leak... one common leak is hidden from view... above the spare tire.

Between the rear tires is the spare tire above the axle. You will need to lower the spare to see and access the EVAP charcoal canisters which is bolted horizontally to a plate that is on the left-hand side--- near the left rear tire.

There are two hard lines (from the gas tank/EVAP) to the charcoal box. If you place your hands in front of the horizontal plate and bend your wrist to the canisters... there is a round cylinder (approx. 2" dia. X 5" long) with a small tubed fitting which has a pair of clips and o-rings on it.

If the sensor is loose... will trip the "small EVAP leak" code.
If the sensor is off completely... will trip the "gross EVAP leak"

Thx!!

thank you for all of your help, ill check that out and give you the word then on what i find
