2001 explorer st 4 wheel drive my question is I greased the front joint on this shaft but how or can you grease the end that connects the shaft to the transfer case?
I was told you can and bought the fitting that connects to the end of a grease gun reminds me of a fitting you use to air up a football but where or how you do this I have no clue please enlighten me!

The end that connects to the t-case is a CV joint. Unless the boot around the joint is torn, no lubricating is necessary. The boot is filled with a special grease and is lubed for the life of the joint. It's just like the CV joints on the front half shafts.

If the CV joint boot is torn the joint will need to be replaced.
