4R70W problem

What's going on people?!? Have a problem and hoping somebody can help!!
I have a 2000 Explorer XLT V8 auto trans 4R70w 139,200 miles
I was driving it home got to a red light and all of a sudden it will not move,
Press gas and just revs up! Got it towed to my body shop, and it will go into reverse just fine, but not Drive or 1-2, I put on the lift and changed the transmission fluid , smells a Lil burnt but not bad at all! Put new filter and fluid and still not going in drive, but like I said reverse works just fine, wondering what it can be?!??? I checked the gear linkage and it moved fine when switching to P R D etc.. I replaced the trans cooler prior since I bought the explorer wrecked , so it had fluid and everything ! What will cause this? Can somebody help please!! Thanks

Thanks! So from what I read there, looks like I have to replace or rebuild the transmission

Ha! Didn't even know you were a member here. I've actually read quite a few of your posts over on ford trucks when I've been researching the 4R70W. Thanks for all the knowledge!
