Thanks for looking in - I've got an 02 that the 4x4 light is blinking and when put into 4x4 high it seems to be binding and I hear a scraping sound. It will not engage into 4x4 low. In Auto 4x4 everything is fine - no noises and shifts fine. The ABS light is on which code reads rear wheel speed sensor which I know can set the 4x4 light blinking but noises and binding is the concern -- any ideas? Thanks.

Fix the sensor first, if it cant pick up difference between front and rear sensors it can affect the 4x4 system. It may or may not fix it.

Thanks - I'll fix the sensor but the noise and it not going into 4 low at a stop leads me to think it is something more serious. I may end up disconnecting the 4x4 control module and sticking to 2wd since I'm here in the south...but if it's just the sensor I'll be happy w/ that! Thanks again
