5.25" or 6.5" components

I'm thinking about putting Infinity Kappa components in the front of my explorer. Will the 6.5"s fit or should I get the 5.25"s??? What will be the difference in sound quality? Will the 6.5"s just put out a little more mid-bass? It'll prob be a couple months before i start puttin together a system but i figured i may as well start my homework now. Thanks in advance.

I have 6.5s in my doors. A 1/4 in plate will give you enough room i think. MDF is good to use, or just some good plywood.

you can fit either one. i use 5 1/4s in my kickpanels. i have my crossovers set so the woofers dont go below 70HZ, so 6 1/2s are not necessary in my install.
