If you were building a small sub woofer box for 1 ten inch pioneer 400 watt sub woofer would you use 3/4 or 5/8s mdf on it? I will ony be powering this sub with a 300 watt max amp. Thanks for the help!

If things are real tight then i'd go with the 5/8's. If it does'nt matter go with the 3/4 you never know you may get a bigger sub someday that needs the extra reinforcement.

id go 3/4 for sure...because if you want to go 5/8 you'll need to brace the box better internally to prevent resonation so the box itself will need to be bigger anyway

aright I will go with 3/4 then. Im making sort of a stealth box for my 98 2 door blazer. They dont make a stealth box for the 2 door blazers only the 4 door. So im stuck making my own. Thanks again !

with a lower end 10" pioneer and >400 watts 5/8 will be fine.

I made a stealth enclosure for my 800w RMS 10" Audiobahn w/ 5/8s, and it worked fine (and sounds great!). I used 1" on the face, but everything else was 5/8s. But, if you can meet the volume requirements with 3/4s, go for it.

thats why i was asking for space, i think your going to find you need every bit of volume you can get go with the 5/8ths and just brace to the body somehow and it'll be fine.
