5 dtc codes showed up

ok.. i did perform a little surgery and exposed the whole wire bundle.. re wrapped two wires that had some frayed insulation and put armatex insulation foam on the bracket that rubs and slices on the wire loom, unlpugged the neg. terminal and let that sit for half hour replugged the battery and started the car.. the cel was gone! i drove it for a few minutes and turned it off.. i turned it on and off for about 6 times and the cel did not come back.. will drive it again in a few minutes to see if it will show any codes.. i mean, even the p1100 was gone!

i dont want to jinx myself again by being so happy having the dtc's gone so hopefully when i get back from maryland (about an hour drive) tomorrow to pick up a bfg spare tire the computer should have relaerned a bit and conclude if the code will come back or not..

Take a look at the diagnostic routine I sent you. They give you the resistance that you should see between the PCM and the O2 sensors. You should not see any bare wires with the exception of braided ground straps.

the pdf file you have given me has been a great help!

i was digging through my file cabinet and saw the 1997 ford service and manual cd that came with the owners handbook i bought like two years ago and finally decided to give it a try and y'know what? it has the same pages that you sent me..

lol, and i had that with me all this time :banghead:..

no bare wires should exist any where on your vehicle EXCEPT for grounds. See if you can perform a "little careful surgery" to expose the wire bundle so you can trace things a bit better.

yeah, i figured there should be any bare wires at all too specially in a location like that but the bare wire in the puc was a thicker braid and ran through the wire loom.. it's kinda weird actually..
