Hi,
New to the forum. I have been reading allot about the Servo Pin Bore issue with my 2004 Explorer, which has 50K on it. My reading seems to indicate the stronger steel servo pin wears a ridge the softer aluminum bore in the transmission case causing the issue. The repair is to install a brass bushing, which involves pulling the trans apart.
Is there any preventative action I can do to prevent this? Do they make a replacement servo pin with a softer material (other than steel) that would not wear out a ridge in the case?
