i found an awesome deal on a 70 series flowmaster with free shipping and i was wondering if its going to be worth it..

i went to midas and went to get a quote for a custom exhaust with a flowmaster 70 and they all said that it wasnt worth it

so, i'd like to hear from you guys if it is indeed worth spending on.. if i cant find a place that'll weld it up for me then it will probably end up being clamped on.. I already have a cai and possibly a phenolic intake spacer soon..

All opinion, thoughts and insights are welcome!

Thanks!
Carlo

carlo previous owners had the dual 70 series flows on my sport and it sounded to quiet. so i got rid of them and put the dual 40 series flows and it sounds much louder and deeper. I am much happy with the 40 series.

i'm not really into loud exhausts and more interested in possible power or mileage gains.. i've just been told that it wouldnt really make any difference if i get one compared to stock so i'd like to know if members here who have put on a cai and an aftermarket exhaust made any positive difference at all..

Ditto, it will alter the sound the way you want it to, but the big restriction isn't the back half of the exhaust. For the stock 302 the front half of the exhaust is poor. If a 302 is pumped up 50+ HP then it needs much more tailpipe size etc. The stock muffler and back is slightly restrictive, but nothing so bad as the front part. Regards,
