94 Explorer- E. B.
Getting ready to service front hubs on 94 Explorer and
want to do it rite. One side at a time as her work vehicle.

Want to replace all parts. Inside of hubs pretty nasty and
grease coming out past O-Ring.
Can I get all parts at auto store or are some OEM only?
Such as the Cap O-Ring?
What all, parts wise do I need for complete job.
Any upgrade parts suggested?
Any special tools needed?
What grease recommended?

Any tips or tricks appreciated:)
Shocks, Brakes and four nasty rivets for bushings next:(

Thanks:D

I have a set of working auto hubs I will sell you for $20 + shipping.

Consider a manual hub swap, much more reliable and stronger than the autos...

Thanks for reply's,

But, was just wondering what all parts wise I needed
and if available at any parts store including tools I would
need.
Spindle nut socket and size, bearings, seals, grease and cap O-Ring
which is leaking.
Suggestions.:)
94 EB bought new for her with all the options in 95 and from 10' away still looks like the day we bought it.
110,000 on the clock and want to go thru the suspension
a piece at a time.
Her baby and won't upgrade.
Also know manual hubs stronger but she knows how to lock and
unlock the autos, and don't want her getting out to do it if she needs to.
Will look at items 26&7.
Thanks:D

Thanks for that link as to the how to and parts.;)

That was a pretty grungy front end he was rebuilding
but nice write up.
Ours more high desert trips, dry washes and now mountain
trails, not to taxing so no salt, chemical or river crossing
for it.
Had caged, front rear locked CJ3B Willis on 33s for the rough stuff.
Wish we had it back.:(

Going to clean up Auto hubs, check bearing, repack, turn
rotors and new pads. Will get an idea on whats next while apart.

Thanks again:thumbsup:
