95-01 Projector headlights, Part 2

Got word that my HID bulbs are in as well. I can't stand it any longer, I'm heading home to install them this weekend and tweak the aiming just a tad.

Todd, as mentioned offline, my lights are still nicely focused straight ahead (i.e. I'm not blinding oncoming traffic). They seem a bit higher "straight ahead" (i.e. cars in front of me). Let me know if you think yours are a bit higher with the HID bulbs.

You're a stickler like me and I think you'll be pleased with the HID upgrade. I'm very pleased with the results so far.

This will be the longest day in history! I hope to re-aim both low and high tonight after installing the new bulbs, clean up the wiring and hopefully there's some silicon laying around home to take care of that. So far I haven't had an issue with condensation but I don't want to take the chance.

Have you don't anything with the squirrel finders? I just noticed they are brighter than I thought when I pulled up behind a truck last evening. Probably not anything I should worry about though.

I don't really feel comfortable opening up the projectors so I'll probably just stick with the status quo for now. I still don't think that bright spot is too bright. If you think of a relatively safe way to go in and make any changes, let me know. The little screws that seem to be holding the projectors in are in there pretty good and could be easily stripped. I know because stupid me thought you needed to loosen those screws in order to change bulbs so I tried when I got the Osrams. Of course, you just need to loosen the clips to get the bulbs in and out.

Have I mentioned what a lousy mechanic I am? :D

I just installed these tonight and why im impressed. I can tell a huge difference in the light output. Not scattered anymore like the others. 10/10 these couldnt be any better. Ill post a bunch of pictures tomorrow. If your on pins and needles whether to get these, definitly do it.

Yes, we love pictures. What difficulties [if any] did You have with your installation/wiring? Also, did you connect the halo's and LED's to your parking lights?

Any pics with the headlights on?

Halos no more. I snipped them this morning. I was thinking of switching the halos but I don't think I'll ever have a desire to hook them up again so it was easier just to cut and leave it that way.

Gotta love the light output with the HID/projector combo. I've been using HIDs now for a few days and and blown away at the output. The Halogens look so dim now and the brights don't look so bright. I'm still eventually going to do the quad beam upgrade eventually because I have the wiring, but the marginal output from the second beam is marginal I found last night.

Group Buy expires today, as a reminder. These are the real deal.

Quick question, on my header panel.. one of the adjuster's for the passenger side headlight is busted.. it Cannot be re-used. (I hit something and it broke the piece the adjuster goes through, so now it's just a hole with an adjuster laying in it..) With these projectors, in their one piece design.. is it alright to assume that none of the stock mounting points are used anymore, considering the new adjuster's are just those two bolts for each light.

From the looks of it, the only things they use now is the two top corner light screw spots.. and to keep it in-place, it uses the holes to push those "pin" like things through.

Nova mentioned to me also, that to aim these.. they have to be removed and re-installed every time you want to make an adjustment...... is this really the case, or is it just a really tight fit to get to the adjusters from behind the header panel? (He's one of the few that reported a horrible aim from the factory... along with his LED issue..)

Yes, the pins and screws are all that is needed....I'm pretty sure you would have to take them out for adjustment.

Oh man, I can't wait... these need to get here NOW.

Crap.. I still need to order up some new bulbs...

My halos are hardly noticable during the day...I wanted to use them as a daytime running lights, but it looks like I only have my parking lights on. Should the halos be brighter than this?

How do I get in on this group buy?
