95-01 Projector headlights, Part 2

Quick question, on my header panel.. one of the adjuster's for the passenger side headlight is busted.. it Cannot be re-used. (I hit something and it broke the piece the adjuster goes through, so now it's just a hole with an adjuster laying in it..) With these projectors, in their one piece design.. is it alright to assume that none of the stock mounting points are used anymore, considering the new adjuster's are just those two bolts for each light.

From the looks of it, the only things they use now is the two top corner light screw spots.. and to keep it in-place, it uses the holes to push those "pin" like things through.

Nova mentioned to me also, that to aim these.. they have to be removed and re-installed every time you want to make an adjustment...... is this really the case, or is it just a really tight fit to get to the adjusters from behind the header panel? (He's one of the few that reported a horrible aim from the factory... along with his LED issue..)

"Quick" question?

My aim was fantastic from the get go. I still haven't adjusted the projector (with both halogen Osram Night Breakers and the HID). I might bring them down a hair but not sure I have to. I tweaked my highbeam down 1/4 turn this morning to try and make them more noticable since the HID overpowers them (as mentioned previously). I simply gutted both adjusters from the Diamonds and all the hardware I could from them. There is no need for any of those

YES, you must remove the headlights each time you need to adjust because you need an 8mm socket to turn the adjusters. No room whatsoever to get at them without doing so. I tweaked my highs this afternoon in no time. The lights do go in and out quickly so no hassle once you get the hang of them.

What LED "issue"?

Why not get the lights before you start asking all the questions? You have this habit of flooding threads with your questions and comments without thinking things through or trying things yourself and this is no exception. I kind of cringe when I'm posting in a thread or reading an old thread and I first see your name there. "Tangents" are sure to follow.

Seriously, get the lights, install them and if you can't figure something out, we're here to help. Chances are, the question's probably already been asked! All the information you need re: these lights has already been posted already. I'm useless when it comes to wrenching and even I figured these things out. They're a piece of cake.

Not trying to flame but sometimes I'm not sure you take the hints of other members. If it's not already apparent, "Blunt" should be my middle name! :D

They're not open weekends. They had mentioned that the Group Buy price had been extended to 3/1/09. I took that to mean it expires tonight.

I wanted to get the HIDs as well the discount was automatic when I added them to my cart.

GROUP BUY IS OFFICIALLY OVER (confirmed today with Henry).

If you've got questions about the GB specifically, post them in that thread. My objective in this thread is just to discuss the lights themselves (this is the lighting forum) so please keep the posts on topic in this thread if possible.

i knew i should have ordered them before i left for the weekend.... well i guess i will just have to pay the full price

Installed new projector fogs today.

As much as I didn't care for the halos and subsequently disconnected mine, they look good on your ride paired up to the fogs. What's kind of bulbs do those fogs take?

Hey thanks for the offer but I'll pass. I've got a header project to start putting aside pennies for. I'm pretty much done with lighting mods for the time being.

SO basically the kit that allows you to have both the projectors and the reflectors on when the "high beams" are turned on is just a relay and some wires? Has anyone done this before AND had on two 55w fog lights on aswell. I am looking to turn night into day when my new lights come in and was just trying to get ready.

IamTodd has a quad beam setup, but his is truly custom. He's got a thread somewhere how he did it. I've got the KC Lites kit, but haven't wired it up yet. Yes, it's just a relay and some wires. They've got instructions on their site that pretty much show the setup.

As far as the fogs go, there is a mod out there that allows you to keep the fogs on when the highs go on. There is a lengthy thread on the site so you'll just need to hunt that one down. If I recall, all that's involved is modifying one of the relays located under your airbox. I did that mod a few years ago and it was dead easy.

yeah i have come across that thread and all it requires is like a 4" piece of wire and some connetors. How has that been working out for you? what wattaage fogs do you have on there cause the forum had some concern about blowing the relay? ( it didnt really make sense to me, but i thought i would ask)

I don't know the specs on my fogs. They're standard OEM fogs. I've got a '99 so mine are the round ones.

I didn't wire anything. I simply lopped off one of the blades within the relay itself and voila....fogs stay on with either high or low. I just Dremel'd it off. Took no time and worked like a charm. No issues noted.
