96' 5.0 AT Tow Capacity.

I was wondering how much I could tow with a 96' XLT with a 5.0, automatic transmission, and 2WD. Currently I don't have a hitch, but just the ball that goes on the bumper. If I were to get the hitch how much could be towed, and would you reccommend to tow alot with an engine and tranny that have 207,*** miles on them? Thanks.

A 200k motor has to be tired, but your owners manual will tell you for certain what its rated to tow. If I remember correctly, its around 4800 lbs. Towing max weight long distances with a 200k motor probably isn't the best idea if you like your motor.
