My trans was slipping badly causing truck to run hot, I lucked out and found a junkyard trans with low miles put it in myself and its now back to shifting and running great. Seemed like thermostat was sticking so I changed it now temp goes up to about 4/5s of the way and pretty much stays there, it doesnt overheat just stays a little high. Now I get no heat , antifreeze level is where it should be. What should my next step be ? Thanks for any help

No heat is almost always due to low coolant level. I would suspect no heater core circulation, but with the other symptom of overheating, I have to suggest you park the truck on a steep incline, let it cool, then recheck the radiator ( not the reservoir) level.

Raising the front of the truck will get rid of the air bubble and force it to the radiator. I bet you will see low fluid in the radiator, even with a full reservoir.
