ok this is my first time posting so here goes.

so im pretty mechanical when it comes to working on trucks and cars. but however the problem im having is stumping me.
whem i start my truck it starts and runs great. heres the kicker if u shut it off after 5 mins it wont restart , crank no fire. let it run 20 mins and it restarts over and over very little hesitation though.
have to let it sit for about two hours before restarting again.
fuel pressure reads normal off, running, and also on a no start issue.
kinda stumped on what could be causing this, and where should i begin testing sensors or coil packs.... etc etc.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a 96 F250 with a 5.8 that had a similar issue. During idle it uses an idle control thingy for fuel. I took it off, sprayed the **** out of it with carb cleaner and it worked. I don't know if the 5.0s have the same thing. Hope this helps.

where was it located ? do u mean the maf sensor? in the between the air filter and the throttle body ?

Its the idle postion sensor. Its located on the intake somewhere downstream of the MAF. I had to google it to remember, but thats it. It uses it to idle and I think warm up. Mine was nasty and it had 80k on it at the time and was only 10 years old.

couldnt be the iac because the truck runs great when it starts and driving im leaning more towards the crank sensor right now. gonna get a book and the sensor tomorrow and start tearing into testing it with an ohm meter.

it starts once . if not warmed upit will not restart.which im thinking the crank is starting to go bad. might only be starting cause the cam sensor is still getting signal.....its just a weird senerio i will trying cleaning the iac anyway then try to start and restart..... couldnt hurt right lol..
