97 Ranger Heater core access

Hi, I have a huge project ahead of me....replacing my leaking heater core. I have been researching other threads dealing with blend door fixes. Most of these fixes involve cutting off the bottom of the a/c plenum to get access to the door. My question is if anyone can tell me if this may give enough access to replace the heater core as well. It would be nice to not have to pull the instrument panel. Any ideas would be great.

...we also have several write ups on heater core replacement here if you search...It shows that the Ranger, Explorer, Mountaineer, all install/remove basically the same frome 91-99 models..

There is no way around it-you must pull the HVAC box under the hood, and the dash.

Thanks for the advice. I thought it was worth a shot.....I've freed up my whole weekend for the replacment......hope thats enough!!!
