98 EX with 2wd converted to 4wd with 95 4x4 parts?

Is it possible? I have found a really good deal on a 98 explorer... and it may be 2wd

I have a 95 explorer that has been rolled. Can I take all 4wd components and put them in the 98?

No

It isn't worth doing.

The tranny on the 98 would have to be rebuilt with a 4x4 shaft to accept the transfer case, plus your 95 front diff is different than the 98's and you would have to run vacuum lines for it and rig up a system to control the vacuum.

buy the 98, you can find a ton of 98's that have been flipped.... who knows, maybe a junk yard will trade you the 4x4 components from a 98 for your 95... just thinking outloud
