I was driving down the road last week and all of a sudden the car died. I had no spark so i purchased a new coil pack and it still won't start. When i hooked the car up to the computer it told me something about a misfire. Any ideas would greatly help. Thanks

Did you check the fuses?

More information. What cylinder? How do you know you have no spark? The truck just died while driving? What is your battery voltage? Charging voltage?

Did it make any terrible noises when it stopped running? More info.

If you go turn the key right now what does it do?

No noises. its the 4.0. if i turn the key right now it just cranks over.

Nevermind guys i found the problem. The crankshaft snapped off right where the pulley bolts on. I have no idea how this happened. So now i don't know what to do. I guess 98 explorer for sale parts or whole.

Sorry about your tough luck with the broken crankshaft.
This has happened before on the 4.0s, I won't say it's a
common problem, but it has happened rather frequently.

Was this a SOHC or OHV engine?
How many miles on it?
Has the damper ever been removed?

It is a SOHC with 136000 miles on it. I haven't owned the truck very long so i don't know about the damper.

That really blows man.Sorry.
