99 2x4 with 302 / 5.0 oil pan leak.

Hello. I have been searching on the site for an hour and can't get a complete answer. I know with AWD you have to raise the engine to change the oil pan gasket. But what about the 2x4 with the 5.0? I have read that it is easier, but it is not stated how it is easier.

Can I just unbolt the pan and work it around the subframe?


Maybe there should be a sticky procedure for the different combinations and how to replace each.

You have to lift the engine up to clear the pan to come out between the steering rack and the oil pump body even on 2wd

Just undo the engine mount? Or is there more to it?

When I did mine I just undid the mounts and lifted the engine up until the trans hits the body. It's a tight fit to get it out
