99 V6 mountaineer transmission part #

I have looked around a bit and I can't find the part # for the transmission I know the v8 is the 4R70W is it the same for the v6? Also are there any good after market transmissions for explorers/mountaineers. mine is struggling to shift at about 1000 rpms.

The V6 is different and some one will be along to tell you the correct number but it's something like 5r55w or n.

the 5r55w is for 02 and up

5R55E, find the threads in the trans forum about those. There are a lot of parts you can replace or upgrade to improve the shifting. Most issues an automatic has begin with the VB or other small parts, which can be serviced without removing the whole trans.
