hey all im in the process of getting my timing chain set up replace after the inevitable happened and the guides and tensioner broke due to cheap plastic. im got all the parts from ford and a local shop who im friends with the owner is replacing it. i noticed this last winter while changing my oil pan after cracking it doing some rock crawling (bad idea with stock height) when i took the old oil pan off i noticed orange plastic pieces in the bottom. didnt think much of it then but now the rattling has gotten worse and i want this engine to last me a few more years. now my question is since this is all being replaced, how long should it last and will i notice any difference in driving such as engine response? please post with some info and or tips all input is appreciated

Quality parts?

My original timing chain components lasted about 150K miles. Those manufactured by Ford in 2002 and later are improved and should last longer if they are installed correctly, and you use synthetic oil and a quality oil filter. If your current timing chains have not slipped due to broken guides you probably will not notice any improvement in performance. The idle may be a little smoother.
