A bit of good news

That noise that was freaking me out(sounded like trans was falling out) turned out to be the heat shield for one of the cats was loose! So i took my snips and just cut it all the way off. I dont know if that was a wise thing to do, but i couldnt take that racket anymore. People were starting to stare!

That's a real common thing to do. Most of the older Explorers have already had that done. Won't hurt a thing. Glad it wasn't serious.

Mine was rattling like that when it came up for sale at the auction we bought it from. I think it helped to lower the price, as people that were clueless thought it was the transmission rattling The guards were removed eons ago....
