Hi all,

First post here, so if I'm totally overlooking something obvious, go easy please :)

I have a 99 explorer XLS 4x4 with about 92k miles. I recently had the dealership do some work on it - replaced the control arms, ball joints, and front brakes and rotors. A few days after the repair, I was driving in a huge rainstorm and the ABS light came on (I thought at first to alert me that ABS was actively being used. duh.). However, the light has stayed on since then...

The question is - could they have messed up something with the sensor while doing the other work? I don't want to pay a bunch of dough for something that is a problem that they caused while doing other work in the area.

Thanks for the help!

Welcome to this forum! I would suggest that you go back to them. They might not honor the warranty if you wait too long. Do you know what code the ABS system is putting out? WWW.VeryUseful.Com has a list of ABS codes on their website.

it's probably just a coincidence but still it can't hurt to go back and see what they say

Just as an FYI.. If your ABS light is on then the ABS computer has detected a problem and has deactivated the ABS braking system.. This means the ABS braking whereby the computer senses a wheel lockup condition and pulses the brakes is OFF; While the vehicles normal braking is completely ON.
