Hey guys, what is the best way to add an amp to the existing stock system?? I have done numerous installs in the past, but this is really stumping me. My friend has a '96 explorer with the Factory 6disc CD changer and cassette player.

Originally I planned to just splice into the wires before they went into the rear doors like I did in my Jeep, but I cant find a description of the speaker wire colors anywhere. It is easy to find the ones off the HU, but there don't seem to be matching colors that go into the door. Do they change color somewhere?

If someone could list the colors of wire and where they are located it would be great. Looking for the wires that go to the rear door speakers, both postive and negative for both sides. We are going to tap into these and run them into the Amp's speaker level inputs.

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks!

why dont you just re-wire it. much easier at least that is what i think. if your doing the back it is really easy. the front are a little harder but not much. im assuming its a 4dr. and if you were doing back you would need about 15 ft. for both sides thats enough to reach to the very rear cargo area. i got 12 gauge stinger at .30 a foot. so it wont break you either. peace
