Adding roll bar to a 2nd gen

Hi i have a 1999 xlt and i would like to install a roll bar on it. Ive looked a CJ roll bars and they look like they would fit, most CJ's are 68.5 in. Wide and my explorer is 70.2 in. Wide. Has anyone done this project? If so id like to know how it worked out, or if people have opinions id like to here those, anything you think would help. Thank you

There are a few 2nd gens on here with cages. I don't think anyone has used a prefabbed cage from another vehicle though.

i think that would look stupid. but anything is better than nothing.


dont think anyone has put a cj or 4runner factory cage in but i cant see why it wouldn't work. just throw one in and see
