just bought a 00' mounty 5.0 Awd. truck is awesome, but i can never leave a stock vehicle stock for long. looking for a few suggestions and optinions on upgrades.
first off, is there an intake kit for this truck. like a K&N FIPK? or anything else similar?
has anyone used the superchips tuner? worth the 400 bucks? my truck has slightly larger tires than stock {255/70 i think}. anyone know if the tuner will adjust speedo on these trucks?
whats the largest tire i can fit stock? what the largest i "should" fit. dont wanna go knocking out balljoints with too big of a tire.
what kind of tires you guys like? looking for great handling onroad, great handling in snow, good in dirt as well. and 50k treadlife... too much to ask?
ive used BFG A/T K/Os on my other trucks, really liked them.
what is there available for exhaust kits? all ive seen is the gibson kit. any soundbites of this system? im a good welder, i might just swap mufflers and add a tip if the catback doesnt help much for performance.
what kind of muffler would sound best. looking for a mellow, deep, smooth sound. maybe flowmaster 70 series or borla.i put a magnaflow on my brothers new v6 tacoma, sounded pretty high pitched. had the same muffler on my 89 K5 Blazer,except 3.0" vs 2.5" , and it sounded awesome. Hows the magnaflow sound on a 5.0 with stock exhaust? ive had prettymuch every muffler on small block chevys, but i know that different engine/exhaust setups will change the way a muffler sounds. any sound bites of mufflers around here on 5.0s? all ive heard so far is glasspacks, not what im looking for on this truck.
how about shocks? im a big fan of bilstiens, anyone use these? whats up with the third shock on the rear? anti wrap?
what happens when this third shock goes out?
