Another OHV M90 build

here's the drivers side. Kind of a crap angle, but I wanted to show how they looped the tube closest to the collector. At least that makes more sense.

There really is no way they could have made stock replacements any other way, as its pretty tight on the passenger side.

ps. That stupid gunky gelled oil (Almost a grease) is allover the garage floor and my hands to get these pics. I just wanted to mention that so you could really appreciate these pics.
Yea man, they will flow WAY better.the one side looks like they are equal length and having its own runner per port is big.they are shorties for sure tho, mine or more like long tubes and both sides are pretty close to equal length tubes.they look great to me and should help for sure, don't worry man they will be worth it.top notch build deserves top notch parts;)some pics of mine, first two was my very first ohv build

Man im telling you wait till you hear it with the bigger cam.people hear my truck and swear it has a sc big block.the whole tone of his truck is going to change.wish you all lived near by man.i would love to be there to help and hear the first start.that sound is going to put the biggest smile on both yalls faces!!:)

I think my exhaust note is 'different' because of my bad cylinder. Makes it sound like it has a cam with lots of overlap.

I'm really curious to hear what my new motor is going to sound like also.
Tomorrow night the motor pull starts!

Wife's not too happy about me taking over the garage for a week. Me on the other hand? I'm really excited about having the whole garage to work in.

JD is right, with that cam it will sound so sweet, especially with those nice headers. My buddy who owns a built ls1 FC asked if I 5.0 swapped mine the first time he heard it. Im excited to see this thing finished. Keep it up!

fixed it for ya!

btw, did you want me there friday night, or come over sat. also, did you want the motor stand that i have here, or dont need it.

hahaha.
Thanks Tim.

Yes, please bring engine stand.

I think saturday morning (Not too early) is probably best.

If things go well on Friday night, I'll have rad out, SC off, power steering pulley off, and exhaust manifold bolts off. Then any coolant drippings cleaned up so that rolling around on the ground will be reasonably comfortable.

I'm hoping we can have the motor out within a 3-4 hours on Saturday. I know its kinda wishful thinking, but sometimes things do go smoothly (Not very often).

This build thread is inspiring me to spend money.. Dono. I feel for your leaky wallet, but worth every dollar I promise it will be.

Me and xeek had his out in under 15mins.shouldn't take you over an hour especially sense your have just about everything off and pretty ready to pull;)one more day and the fun starts!!!;)

if you do get that far, dont completely unbolt them, leave them hanging by a few threads.

SWEET! don and i can use some donations! i will pm you my paypall addy!

HA! you funny guy! :)

Naww we really did,it was ready to pull tho.I've pulled my motor with everything still connected and bolted in about 45 mins.you gota remember tho that two people working.just me alone,i could yank one in under 2 hours EASY!but I've done MANY pulls before.i say it will take you all about 2 hours, maybe less.i know you have experience in pulling them.i think he meant collector bolts not manifold.or maybe you all arnt planning on pulling by the manifolds ?

those are the ones that i meant to leave a few threads on. i found it's easier to unbolt all the lower bell housing bolts, then unplug the 02 sensors, then drop the y pipe down. also, when i pull a motor out, i normally put one bolt in the front, and on on the back of the heads. everyone's different.
and i cant say i have pulled a motor out in 2 hours either, but then again is that with air tools? i normally dont get to use those.

I normally use hand tools or battery impact gun.i leave every thing on the motor.i cut the collector bolts also.then its like 12bolts,two hoses and four wire connectors and its basically ready to be pulled.i wrap straps around the exhaust manifolds and pull from them.hell I've seen/helped pull a motor, put one back in and have it running all in one day.with time to spare;)im willing to bet it don't take you all as long as you think.

nope cant do it that qwick. don pulled the heads a few years ago, and the collector bolts should be good, so no cutting them. that and you also have to remember, we live up in the rust belt. sometimes the bolts (no matter where, or what) are almost like they are welded on.

I live and 4wheel the beach.if it ain't painted and sometimes even if it is,it will be rusty:(that's why i just cut the collectors ,way faster.trans bolts and engine mount bolts are only things i take off, rest is just wires and hoses!!lol

We will see how quick it goes. Im a newbee, so I'll probably slow Tim down a bit anyway.

As long as it comes out without trashing anything I'm a happy guy.

oh, and this pull will be no different for you Tim. No air tools.
I wouldn't want to spoil you or anything.

O yea ain't saying rush thro it or anything.just think it will go smoother and faster than you think;)

I'm sure your right. I really don't want to take up a bunch of Tim's time. I'm sure he has other things he'd rather be doing.
The transmission was out a couple of years ago, so hopefully there are no siezed bolts anywhere.

Either way, that motors coming out.
