So all of my windows are tinted except the front 2, I don't know why that is. I want to get those tinted but I don't know much about brand names when shops throw them at me. I know I want to get it done professionally because then I have a warranty to fall back on, in the off chance they purple, haze, peel, etc.

One shop was touting 3M's tint films because they're ceramic based and they said they would tint those 2 windows for $60. On top of that, there seems to be a new type of film called "nano-film" that they have, apparently they're one of the only shops in Arizona to carry it yet. It's supposed to reflect about 90% of the heat, which if you live in either Tucson or Phoenix you know that would be the best thing in the world. Whole truck stripped and re-tinted for $299.

Any opinions or advice is appreciated. Extra points if you know about Tucson shops and can refer one. Thanks in advance!

Back when I lived in PHX in 2000-2002, the Hüper Optik brand window film was just starting to show up in the automotive area. Some local news did a test comparing it against one or two others. The Hüper Optik film was supposed to block more of the heat, and their tests showed that it indeed did. Interior temps were lower. At the time, Hüper Optik film was mega expensive.

It is ceramic based, and dye free.

Just something else to look at...

As long as any of the window films are guaranteed for life, with warranty service available nationwide, they should be fine...
