My wife's 04 is going to need new tires soon, and she (and I) both love the look of BFG All Terrains, but we have never seen them on the 3rd generation Explorers.

Does anyone have these on their truck or know where I can find some pictures of them so we can make a decision?

Get the bridgestone dueler at revo's they are the best and about 150 a tire.

I second the Bridgestone Dueler Revos. I have had mine for about 40,000 miles and the treadwear is awsome. I still have MANY miles to go before I would need replacements. Great for the mild offroading that I do, and excellent on the street too. I went with them due to the price being lower than the BFG AT's

check out the Nitto Terra Grapplers, I have them and love them. stick to everything and are wearing well.

I have a set on my Ranger. They should go abour 60,000-miles. The tire compound is a little hard, but that is what give them the duribility. I may get another set, they are realitevly cheap, for litht trucks. The perform well for a all terain tire.

BFG All Terrain 265-75-16's on 2002 Explorer

Hey man, i would definitely go with the BFG's i put a set of 265-75-16's on my 2002 right after christmas and i really like them. I went to Sam's club and they told me that they were not going to fit, so i turned around and went to a friend of mine, who owns a tire shop, and he put them on for me. Sams told me that the biggest i could safely put on was either a 245 or 255, i cant remember. The 265's cost me 707.00 to have them mounted and balanced. I think they are definitely worth the price. All I had to do when i got them on was ziptie both front inside wheelwells to the nearest piece of metal, so that they wouldn't scrub. Here's a couple pictures.

Good all around tire:thumbsup: Good tread life, mileage, road manners, good in rain and snow, but suck in mud. and you don't have to worry about bumping a curb. Once you get down the last 20% or so of tread though they start getting a little ruff. That's just the way they are.

my friend has a set of bfg a/ts for about half a year and they still look new... the tread lasts forever as long as u dont let it sit and dryrot... itll last u around 70k-90k miles

How about Nittos in sand

I'm looking for something that airs down well. Needs to handle sugar sand. Like the rest Ill go with 265/75/16 on my stocks. Some net. reviews say the nitto dont last. Had bfg's on my ranger ok but not to great in sand, to hard i think. any body running nittos on the beach or desert?

check out the new Nitto dune grapplers.... prolly the coolest lookin tires ever... heard good things about them on desert runners... give it a go

i saw them. I liked the tread. the flames on the side wall are kinda funky. Pricy as, well you know. 208 each. of course when im stuck on the beach at midnight just me my 14 year old and the in coming tide $208 might not sound bad. Ive seen the big and bad stuck at the tide line, say good night.

BFG's are nice and nice looking. I originally wanted them, but I was unsure of how well they would be during summer as well as how well they would be with me doing a great deal of highway driving. I now own the REVOS, and I am absolutely in love with the way they look on my ex. I get compliments from many people. they have a real aggressive look. check out some of my posts

I have more pics somewhere but dont want to post them all. All I can say is I love them, got them for $640 delivered next day from tire rack. $65 installed locally including alignment

Thanks for the comments and pictures. I've had BFG's on my last two Jeeps and loved them, just wanted to see what they looked like on 02-05's.

I'm putting BFG 265/75/16's on my 05 Saturday cant wait... my money came today so they are going on. I think I may look at rims while I'm there and maybe buy some if I can get a good deal.

I'm going with the General Grabber AT2s when I get tires. All the reviews look good and they compare well to the BFGs. Tread is close but the prices is less than $100/each from tirerack.

Well the BFG's are on the X and omfg do I love them. I have to go back to balance one tire. Man are they good and do they look good. 265/75/16 fit with no issues so far. If anyone wants Photos just give me your addy and I'll email them to you. I'm not so good at posting pics on forums yet.

its pretty easy if u make a cardomain page... then when u add ur pics in car domain, click on one to where its a new window and its big then right click the picture and hit properties... ull see "address" or "link" on the top... highlight that and copy it... then come back to ur post on here, click the picture icon and paste ur link...should work out fairly well

Ok I'm at work right now and I'll try it when I get home if I'm not to tired. Its 11pm right now and I should be done work closer to 5-6am. I'll try to go out for a few minutes after work and get some more shots of the truck in some dirt... it's suppose to rain tonight if I'm lucky I'll get some in a bit a mud. Then I'll go wash it up and take more. lol
