I am looking to put a single 12" in the factory location in my 95 X. I don't have the factory sub, I just want to put a 12' there. Could find anything with the search.
I will be building my own box.

keep us posted on what you find. i have been debating giving up my 12 for a 10 because i want something thet is out of the way. if i knew how to get a 12 in there that would be great! unfrtunately, i dont have the capabilities to make my own box. i was thinking of getting the 10" q-logic box and opening up the hole if possible.

Rear Cargo (or stck sub area) location?

Are you guys talking about the rear factory amp/sub location or cargo box (if not equiped with a sub) in the back of the Explorers? If so, I ha a 94 with a custom box and 12" Rockford Fosgate in there, it's now in my 97 EB that had the stock amp/sub setup in there.

I found a made fiberglass type box on ubid.com a while ago, picke dit up for real cheap compared to the $400 price elsewhere. It came with the 12inch sub too. I had it installed, with my RF amp and receiver. I pu tin Rockford Fosgate speakers myself. How crap did that sub make some bass. I had no idea that one 12 incher in that location would do that. It being in the wall mounted to the X and the natural shape of hte Explorer helps a lot. I would definately go that route whether you make a custom box yourself or whatever, just undo the back panels and check out the dimensions.

The only thing is, if it's not secured properly, I would think it could vibrate the panels or such in back a bit. I've barely noticed that when it's up loud, just the enclosure cover.
