Sorry to hear about that Matt. Hope you get a good check for it.

Something I'd like to add... Don't plan on using tom's doubler if you have to drive on the street. I'm replacing my clutch right now and while I had everything out again I figured I'd re-seal my tcases up. The doubler has leaked since I put it in. So I cleaned everything up, new silicon, put it in fluid and it still leaks like a ****. There's just no way the torched and welded to steel is still straight enough to mate to the machined surface of the leftover front case half.

Aaron,
What kind of timeframe are you looking at for building your doubler?

This may be a stupid question but why cant you just machine the 2 surfaces so they meet flush?

that's what SHOULD have been done, especially after cutting steel with a torch and welding to it. I knew this when I bought tom's doubler. But I did not have time to make my own (at the time) I'm not saying his doubler is a P.O.S. it's just a low buck answer. It's very simple and could be made by just about anyone with some fab skills.

I've been asked by many in the ranger community what I think of it and how it's holding up. I was just updating my opinion ;)

notajp- I'm hoping to get started on the cad work of the doubler next week.

Got my attention!

You had Cad drawings on how it was built? I have an extra 1354 kicking around that i could play with.. hrm.. the ideas.. :D

Just subscribing b/c I"m interested also. :D

I'm also interested in some alternitive to the Atlas. Love the Atlas and all, but it's a bit overkill for what I would need and I would love to see something half its price.

didnt get a penny just had basic insurance. I hope this works out for everyone. Gearing was the only thing that I hated about how my ranger performed.

Aaron (danger ranger) is a good guy and i what ever he comes up with I would have trusted it to put in my ranger.

Matt

I would like to have a dual T-case also.

Should be interesting possibly fitting one of these in a BII.....high angle driveline.

:)

Hey Danger, any updates on your prototype? I'm employed again and back to looking into this.

bump

Anyword on the doubler? Anytime you are ready, so am I.

IM also chiming in and looking into doing a doubler. I have been wheeling with the yellow bronco 2 on that doubler website and his doubler work pretty good. Im not sure if hes still using the 1350 and that doubler still but he has some killer low range. Anyone heard of doubling the 1354 and the 4405?

Matt

I'm also interested in some alternitive to the Atlas. With a doubler you get more gear ratios. 2.48:1 great for the sand, and an ultra low 6.25:1 great for the rocks.
