I am going to put 32's on tomorrow. I am sure I will lose some power (I really like the power in this thing my first x was the 4.0 OHV) Also I want an accurate Spedo/Odometer. I want to know is it Apten that can customize a chip for me? Also, ¿How long are we talking about? ¿Apx how much are we talking about? and Finally, ¿How do I contact them to find out?

Thanks Alec

Say, tomorrow I am going to rig something up to push my bumper out 1"- 1½". ¿Anything I need to know (as far as airbags? ¿Will pushing thes things out affect my airbags? It looks like just 4 bolts (the problem is they look like studs and I will have to drill something out and then put bolts in it's place with 1"-1½" Spacers.

If your problem is rubbing I'd personally cut the bumper rather than moving it, but that's just me. Seems much safer to me that way, and it will probably look better.

Just my opinion.

I got it

I got it in pieces right now. I will figure out tomorrow what exactly I am going to do. I got the bolts modified to where they can come out (something that Ford never intended that anyone should do) If I can get some longer bolts and something to space in between it that will work well, I will do that. If not, I will have to resort to cutting because I am putting somthing on tomorrow (even though I can't really afford it) because I have had 3 flats in about 1½wks. I gotta do something man even if I have to get 31's. I don't realy care right now. I am just worried about being able to aford to bring mi fiancée up for my graduation.

Boy I sure hope

I hope this chip helps out. If only I could afford it. I HAVE ALMOST NO POWER. I put 32"s on today. Wow. I don't know what kind of good they could do me in the mud, I ain't got no power to turn them. Anyways. I might just have to get a chip. I don't know just how much that will help. ¿Will it at least restore 50%-75% of my power loss going from 29 to 32" tires?

Alec

Will an apten chip give me back about 50% of my power back (the amount I lost in putting on 32's) and will it give me most of my MPG's back (15 is nothing spectacular but it sure beats whatever it is no (don't really know my odometer is so off there is no way I could check it) ¿Could I get most of this back even if I get a chip for 89 octane?
(the choices around here are 87, 89 or 93. I think the guy at Apten said something about 91. I just couldn't afford to fill up with 93 all the time. I just got 2 months left but I don't have any job offers (some prospects) but no offers after graduation.

Anyone

Anyone got an answer for me on these questions I have posted about a chip?

50%?? i doubt it, i have a performance apten chip, v8, exhaust, and intake. and i didnt see that much power increase, just better shift points

I just mean

I just mean 50% or more of the power I lost going to bigger tires (32's). ¿You don't think that a chip will make that much of a difference?

I think it will help you again, but its not gonna be like regearing would be.

You will definatly notice a difference, perhaps you should talk with Brain about getting a chip made with more of a torque consicious burn than an all out performance burn though.

Thanks nweibly

I well, I was going to tell him about the 32's. I was also going to tell him what I wanted (It's not a race car nor was it entended to be) and just let him mess with most of the real specifics. I figure that he has been doing it long enough to know. I am real concerned about MPG's though. I am in college and on a shoestring budget. I want to bring my fiancée up for my graduation (pending a visa) and well, if I can do better than it was before, I will buy one this weekend. If the MPG difference isn't that great. I dunno. I can sure tell a difference I just don't know how strong of one. I am at half a tank (I only had 32 (if that many) miles of 29" tires on this tank) and right now I am at 130+ miles. About where I should be I think when you figure that I have actually driven 140+miles (I am about 10.34% off now).

Usually, going to a larger tire size will increase your milage I believe. The Apten chip, assuming you dont stomp on it anymore than you usually do (or dont at all!) should help boost milage even a little bit more.

Possibly

¿Possibly more than the 15 MPG I got before I put the 32's on? Man, if I can do that without having to buy high test (93 octane) I WILL buy one. I will go so far as to buy 89 and get a program chip for that. Hey, does Apten include taxes and shipping in the price ($325 for the two program I believe)? Anyways ¿Is that or any part of that included in the price?
