New to lighting, I want a brighter headlight but dont want one that is too blue, just a bright white. Is this waht silverstars do? I want the zenon look, but very little blue. Thank you for any help.

Neither really. They're a bit whiter than standard halogen lighting. I wouldn't call them white, though. Definitely nothing like those HID lights you see in BMWs, Acuras etc. They're good bulbs all around. Brighter than stock, but if you want the HID look, buy HIDs.

Here's a shot of Silverstars (Headlights and fogs). More of an "off-white" to me, but colour perception, like everything else is personal:

My SilverStar headlights as well as foglights are very white.

yeah, theyre very white, but not really blue

mine are white too. i was just like you. i didnt want blue headlights either. i'm very happy with the silverstars. i have them on all my cars and trucks now.

they shine white, no blue tint to them or anyhting. if you want blue, go with the xenon hyperwhite's i believe they are called. they look and shine blue.

That the thing. The perfect white viewed through human eyes, has blue in it from what we can see. Thats just how our eyes work.

white on mine too

get them

you would love them

They're white. They do have some blue where the light cuts off though. Hard to tell, but there is very little.

I know...hijacking a thread....I have heard a lot of good reports on them although I have not tried them myself. Is it true that they don't last as long as the regular bulbs? If thats false, I see new bulbs in my future.

I had mine for three years before I had to replace one.

Thanks MONMIX. Thats good to know.

Mine are white also. I love them. Huge improvement over stock.

I installed mine about a month ago and I am very happy with them. I can't see any blue in the light housing when on, or in the light cast on the road. The lights didn't seem to be much brighter than stock, but what impressed me was the clarity and detail that they show. They seem to show different parts of the light spectrum that is easier for the eyes to focus on what the light is illuminating instead of on the light itself. (this is in my highly UNtrained opinion of course) Just my two cents, but I think they are worth every penny.

the only blue you see is that blue dot in your vision after looking into the bright lights.

:D

$29.97 at Advance Autoparts until the 30th of May!! with mail in rebate had to get them, thanks for the tips. Now any tips on installation...

Seems like you are the only one who wouldn't.

Yes, but I'm not a lemming, either.

so are these silverstar bulbs very reliable? also will they not blow out your stock headlight plug connectors? and more specifically i see they are made by sylvania, but there are different types, and im guessing the ones you are referring to are just the ones labeled "silverstar"?
