ATF Leak 2008 Mountaineer

Hello All. New to the form here, been a lurker for awhile.
I have a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer Base w/ 4.0. About 138,x.. miles on it. Crawled under it preparing to do an oil change and noticed that I have an <<oil leak>> EDIT: ATF Leak. Did not get a good look the first time.

Not to familiar with this engine - judging from the pics could anyone help me run down the cause of this? Wondering I can do work myself or if it will be a bigger (and maybe more $$$) job.

It is your front transmission seal.

Is this common? Any root cause, or y'all think just a leak? Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, Mine started at around 100,000 miles.I kept the fluid checked by the dealer (due to no dipstick) but transmission still failed. My transmission failed at 130,000 due to something unrelated to the fluid/seals.
