does anyone know of any adapters for a 5re55 trans to a atlas II t-case?

You kinda answered your own question...there's an Atlas II for Ex's/BII's/Rangers available.

well ive looked but thats not the same transmission. the 5re55 is the 5spd electronically controlled auto.

Call Advance Adapters :)

I realise that, I have the same tranny in my Ranger. Jefe here on the board here used to have that tranny hooked up to an Atlas before he swapped to a different tranny so it is available.

now im thinkin about a divorced mount but i dunno if thats and option w/ the atlas II. im tryin to do all my research for my 2x4-4x4 SAS

Why not use a sami t case they come divorse mount already. Then swap swap some land cruiser axle is and your done. j/k Or swap a 4wd tranny and tcase in. If you go with a divorse mount you will have to move your gas tank. You can make toyota t cases divorce mount as well with an adapter. Or use a np 205 but they are huge.

well i want to keep my 8.8 just b/c its there already. moving my gas tank is another thing that ive gotta think about. im pretty sure my ranger has a returnless fuel system so i dunno if i can run a fuel cell, which id love to mount one at the back of the bed for a lil more weight over the rear axle for a lil more traction. i wanted to go w/ the atlas II w/ the 4.3 low range for a killer crawl ratio w/ 5.13 gears in the pumpkins.

5RE55?? Not 5R55E? I don't know if the trans/t-case bolt pattern has changed for the Ranger since ~2000. I do know that 02+ Explorers have a different pattern that the Atlas does not accomidate. However if it is the same 5-bolt pattern as the A4LD then an Atlas will bolt up.

Also if you are 2wd, you will first need a 4wd transmission (or swap output shaft and tailshaft housing) to mate to a t-case.

5r55e sorry i dunno what i was thinkin ive got my mind on all sorts of stuff. im thinkin about pullin a 4wd trans out of a JY and rebuilding it w/ a shift kit to keep my trucks downtime low as possible. also then i could just bolt the 2 togther and swap them in a as a unit. also since my truck is and EDGE it has the lights in the dash for 4 hi and 4 lo. can the harness be modified to work w/ those lights?

There is no need for 4x lights with a manual t-case, and the atlas only has a spot for a single sensor (4x or 2x) anyway.

ok well that solves that. ive already found my donor waggy for the front axle. now im researching alot more. it says your running a TH700R4 trans?

why a 700R4 just for the 3.06 first gear?

how was the atlas II behind the 5r55e?
