The antenna bracket is screwed into a would 2x4 which makes up the rack I have, it's grounded.

Normal, IL Bug Fest

Riff, it's Bug as in VW Beetle - Bug Fest and it's gonna take place in Normal on Fort Jesse Rd. I'm going since I'm also an owner of a 1963 VW Bus - that's "Vintage Bus" your very first prototype of a minivan. She needs parts and I hope to score good at the swap meet. Should be there at around 10:00-11:00am and I'm taking my rig and my family so you'll find me for sure. As to Explorer content of this message? I just stripped rear bumper off today of the hitch plate and the plastic thingy that goes on top. I'll be looking at converting this baby somehow into a hitch and a spare tire carrier. It was suppose to be a winter project but heck, I had to take the bumper off for adjustments anyway so...... we'll see. Anybody have any idea where to get a 1/8" diamond plate? I need to cut a piece for the top of the bumper.

Thanks,

looky looky.....we got smiles!!!

SuperliftDead Link Removed

ok...i decide to do the rear end of my lift today...and when i come to the brackets...i realize that they sent me the wrong one!!!! ARGH!!!!! so i call rockymountain suspension, and they tell me that they can't just swap them on the account that they are out of the explorer ones!! this doesn't make sense...i really don't think that this site, or anything else can really make a big run on Ford Explorer lifts!! GRRRR....but anyway, they said that superlift had just made some more, and they just got sent off to the powder coating place. so that puts my lift a little farther behind. with any luck, though, i will have it all before attica....please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please..please..please..please..please..please..please..
please..please..please..please..please..please..please..
please..please..please..please..please..please..please..

C'mon everybody, if we all try hard enough we can WILL the brackets to riffman.

Well, I bought a set of Bosch +4's today and installed them. Man, what a job, the passenger side is a *****. I had to do those from under the wheel well. It was well worth it though, what a difference they make.

Spark plugs....

on my 94 with a 3" body lift changing plugs is a breeze. Just get them through the wheel openings. lol:-)

Later,

please X 100

You can sure tell the slacker is on vacation. Over two whole days and no posts. He ain't even whining about his lift. :-)

Should have brought it up here Riff, we could have made them brackets work.

Seriously, didn't he say he ordered it a week before Hank's? That was over a month ago, if it were me I'd have that lift on and already broken from running too hard. Dead Link Removed

Oh well, maybe we should give him a break. He does work 3rd shift you know!!!

LOL

I'm planning on leaving at 7am from chichago suburbs.....so i assume I'll be there 10-11 am and I'll be on channel 25 on my cb....we need no helmets correct? that is all Pete

As for the helmet rule Pete, it depends who you follow (ahem Riff).

Others, I have recruited two more to join our merry band. One is a Wrangler the other a 91 Explorer. They are pledging my fraternity and like go off roading. I know that one is going for sure. I was thinking he might be able to crash on the floor in the hotel room? What do you say Andre?
Riff?

Dave

We said something before about 4 guys max in each room so it should be fine. Then we have four guys in one room. If anyone else wants to join us there's always a couple of chairs, a table and of course carpeting. Just kidding. I don't think we should put more then 4 per room. Sleeping with a stranger is gonna be something else but heck! we ain't no strangers Dave are we? Riff? Good.

See you girls over in Attica.

:)

i was kinda on vacation.....just to chicago for a few days though.....and well, yes damnit! this lift this DOES piss me off....but where will whining get me? eh? ok..fine.......wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrres my braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacket?!?!?!!? anybody got any chese? hehe...so yes...it was frickin cold at Wrigley today. and the Cards got beat..so that makes it an even worse day!! grrrr....

any hoo....i will probably take the floor in the room, if you guys don't mind. unless you want to get the sh*t beat out of you in your sleep. im told that i thrash around pretty good. so at least you have a fair warning!

and yes, by god, i will have the lift on before then!! even if i have to fabricate my own brackets, or just plain old weld the damn springs to the top of the axle w\ no bracket, it will be done!! oh yes, it will be done.

pete, no, we don't have to have helmets....

I found T-Bone.....he was on vacation. Checking to see if he wants to go and I'll let you guys know if he doesn't post here.

THIS IS NUCKIN' FUTS!!!!

This is awesome. We have almost 300 posts in this thread and 12 confirmed rigs going to Attica. I am very impressed. This run is going to rival some of the big runs out west. Who said that we couldn't 4x in the midwest.

Riff...I love what you did with the list. It's kinda nice havin' a couple of lackey's. (The ironic thing is that they are pleadging my fraternity and so truly are lackeys.)

trails

Here is a link about the trails at attica. The average tire size was 32 inch on a 79 inch wheelbase rig. This write up is from the melt I attended last July. It outlines the whole trail pretty good. Of course they change with weather. This may give some insight to the orange trail.

Its fun reading.
