Auburn rear L/S should i get it?

I can get a auburn rear limited slip for a little under $200. Is it worth it?

If it is in good shape ... get it. I have had mine for about 3 years now with no propblems at all.

Is it a night and day improvment? I was thinking about putting a locker in the rear but decided against it because of the way my Jeep drives. My Explorer isn't going to be a rock crawler. I'm just looking for a little traction addititive. I've got the factory limited slip but don't know if it's even doing anything still. What's your opinion. How would it work in sand and fire roads?

im not sure what to do now. i may get a limited slip in the rear and a locker up front.

I have the Auburn in back and a Lokrite up front, this set up works very well. I don't even notice the limited slip on the street ( it will chrip if you don't have enough friction modifier in the lube). I have put over 100K on this set up and have been through the Rubicon trail twice. As for night and day no you won't know it's there till you find yourself going through areas you could not go befor. The front locker is night and day different.

Read above , this set up has worked very well for me.
I run 33 in tires and 4.56/1 gears .

I have an Eaton posi limited-slip unit in my rear-end and love it. I made it through Moab with 2wd with the Eaton doing all the work. There have been 2 times where the unit didn't lock up because there wasn't enough pressure on the rear tires (was hung on the diff) and I had to get strapped. No biggie, IMO my truck does great considering it's 2wd. With a 4x4, you'll really notice an improvement

actually, the auburns are an excellent unit..... rangerx has front and rear and made it through a "lockers only" area in los coyotes..... i will try to find a pic:

some of these dont look too tough but they are massive areas... bill is the army green ranger...
