Back doors wont open from the inside?!?

i dont know what happend but my back doors dont open!!! i'v got a 96 xlt v8, my brother was in the back sit and next thing i hear is a loud banging on the window LoL my brother was locked in, they only open from the outside, NO its not the child secure thing i'v checked 1000 times, i really need help bc this is getting anoying... :roll:

It's a very common problem with the 96-97 Explorers. A little plastic piece breaks off of the handle mechanism and prevents the handle from opening the latch. It happened to both my rears also. I went to the jy and got two handles for $15 or so and spent the next hour installing them. Easy fix. I think there's a write up on here somewhere if you wanna search.

thank you very much, well i got to take the door panels off and look at whats broken im gonna rewire my speakers anyways so i will just fix both things at the same time hopefully it wont take me that long if u know the link to the tread that shows how to do it that would be great too :exp:
