Backup Blade Key Missing - No Original

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a used 2011 Limited. I only received one key fob, and it's missing the backup blade key that fits inside the fob. I could get a second fob but have no blade key to make a copy. What are my options?

Welcome to the Forum Jeff.
I think that the dealership should have provided 2 fobs to start with. As for the key blade it only opens the door and glove box. That said, if the previous owner is local and has the blade, that might be a concern. The dealer might be able to look up the information on your key fob by running your VIN. That might be the place to start especially if you want a working key blade. But you'd have to have the locks changed to prevent the missing blade from being used. Without 2 programmed fobs you will not be able to program any subsequent ones should you want more.
