Ok, I'm having a dumbass moment. I'm replacing the upper & lower ball joints on the passenger side. I was putting the steering knuckle back on, and noticed a 1/2" ball bearing on the ground! I looked everything over carefully and CAN NOT figure out where it might have come from!!! It "could" have fallen out of the loaner ball joint press kit, but I have no idea! Is there anywhere on the front end that even uses a 1/2" (approx.) ball bearing??

Thanks!

There is a steel ball in the forcing screw of my OTC brand B.J. press tool. It goes under the piece that slips into the hollow shaft. It is there to allow the shaft to rotate against the inner shaft so as not to create friction. I always thought it was 1 piece until I bought the 14 pc. adapter kit from harbor freight and it has a different "snout" for certain applications.
