I am seriously looking into the Bama chips for my sig truck. Do all of you notice big improvements with it? I am used to chips on diesels where I get 140 hp out of one. I know this is not the case with a gasser, but will it seriously improve my milage and power?

wow thanks for all the info.

Hello neighbour..

Just programmed mine this week by James at http://www.hensonperformance.com

Seems to be much smoother, and James was quite informative.

Helped the shift points due to larger tires, and the mods of CAI and Catback exaust.

If you have a lot of mods, than yes, otherwise, no.

Heh, I almost did that too...

I actually considered Doug at first, but it took almost a week to get a response, and it was to go to EE. Then EE got back to me and said the delivery time depended on Doug and they had no control on delivery.

Enuf said, I contacted James. withing 24 hours I got a reply, withing 48hrs of my order I got my tune via email.

He also said tweaks to my tune will be included if I got stuff from him, which is quite reasonable.

which one is better? anyone dyno the numbers before and after? Is it a programmer or a flip chip? how do you select the settings?

I disagree.

You're entitled you your opinion. I am just speaking from my experience. I had an Xcal 2 with tunes for performance and mileage from Doug (bamachips). The performance tune did work well, but neither tune obtained better mileage than the stock tune.

I ened up selling the Xcal 2 because all I used it for was reading engine codes.

I will say though, if you are really into performance like Jtsmith, it is a valuabe asset, but I think it is overkill for the average person with little or no engine mods

what do you think it will do for my mods? Has anyone tried the Hypertech Max Energy chip? How do they like it?

Did you get custom tunes from Henson on your SCT XCal 3 tuner?

Whoever you buy the device from should take the time to custom build the files loaded onto it for you exact application. Take your time do research and find someone who can build calibrations properly. That in itself is vital.

It all comes completely down to the guy building the files.

Yes, avoid buying a flasher to buy programs for, that adds cost, and avoid buying used flashers. James sometimes has used flashers, and he provides proper tunes with it. Good luck,
