Battery & ABS light.

I have a stock 1996 explorer and the battery light and the abs light comes on. The battery guage also goes high. I checked the battery with a meter when it is idleing and it read over 18v. What do I do?

Sounds like the voltage regulator in the alternator failed. I would not start the car until you get if fixed, It can ruin your entire electrical system. Take the alternator to autozone and get it tested.

Welcome to this forum! It could be the regulator or possibly a ground problem.

Thanks, i figured it out. It was the voltage regulator in the alternator. That thing was shot.
