Battery removal

I have a 2000 explorer and I'm trying to remove the battery. I can't seem to find the right size socket for the clamp that holds the battery down. 5/16 is too big and 9/32 is too small. Also, it is between 7 & 8 mm.

If I remember correctly, 8mm should fit. Battery acid does have a way of altering things, though.

I'm pretty sure I used a 8mm a few weeks ago.
