2001 sport
Hi,

I have a 2001 Explorer sport with the 4.0 and 75K. I had to replace the battery not long ago, I have about 600 miles on the ex since the battery was replaced. Now it idles around 500 rpm in gear and 600 in neutral. Whenever I kick it down to pass someone the rpm's jump up to 4500 for about a second before shifting. This only happens whenever I have the overdrive turned off. It will not hold the gear long enough for the rpm's to reach the 5500 shiftpoint. If the overdrive is not off it downshifts, rpm's jump up to 4500 and it holds that hear until 5500 rpm's. Is there something that I should've done to the computer after replacing the battery?

Thanks for any help

No, the computer resets when the battery is disconnected. The computer then 're-learns' the car based on driving. Try pulling the codes to see if they reveal anything.
